You have to conclude that lots of people are quite unimaginative. What is this consciousness of the narrator? Do these words convey an intense, charged lived experience? It’s probably because we are human and we are not intended to live this way, so we subconscious wonder why no one will speak up and say hey i can see you and this is bad for you. Are outside circumstances identical with choice? What was the impact on me, of not saying no? Addiction wasn’t your primary problem, addiction was your attempt to solve a problem, of angst, of lack of inner peace (2). In the beginning God, i.e. of man, created the world by becoming conscious of it and defining everything in it, identifying the animals and plants, the seasons and the stars. They exist because we can name them. To show and give signs, before which everything occurred in a spontaneous present, before time. It is not the beginning of something but of somebody, who is a beginner himself. It will have first come like that, now it looks like this — how much is the prophet shaping the future to fit the prophesy? Add that to the list of reasons why it isn’t going to happen.
